The AmpFlow A28-400-F24 Fan-Cooled motor is designed to deliver the highest performance and efficiency possible from a brushed DC motor of this size. This is achieved by the use of rare-earth neodymium magnets, along with four brushes, and advanced electromagnetic computer modeling and design. Fan-cooled motors are designed for applications that require longer duty cycles and high power outputs. Low-profile motor leads enable compact installations.
This reversible motor can be used at voltages ranging from 18V to 28V (the RPM is proportional to the voltage.) At 24 Volts, it has a no-load speed of 4900 RPM. Peak short-term power output is 3200 Watts (4.3 horsepower). Peak efficiency of 83% is reached while drawing 50 Amps at 4500 RPM. The power output at 50 Amps is 1000 Watts (1.3 horsepower).
These motors are made from two sturdy aluminum castings and a seamless body. The A28-400-F24 motor is 3.0 inches in diameter and 7.8 inches long. The 1/2-inch diameter shaft is two inches long, and it rides in two high-quality ball bearings. The heavy-gauge 12 AWG motor leads are 17 inches long. The motor weighs 7.2 pounds, and it is finished in a high-quality black powder-coat paint.
